    Wide 205 50 16's to fit 7.5"-wide wheels?

What are some wide 205 50's to fit 16x7.5" wheels? I don't want to run 225 45's, and I like the stock overall diameter. I also want the minimum amount of stretch.

225/45-16's have the essentially the same diameter as 205/50-16's. for the minimum amount of stretch, run 225/45-16's. but if you really don't want to run 225's...

Yeah, there aren't many 225 45 tires out there.

And I'll be running these on a 318, so I don't want the extra weight of a heavier tire.

well the sidewall is leaning in from vertical, so falls in the category of stretch, but like i said baaaaarely. you dont really notice, which is good.

Stretch occurs when the width of the tire is less than the width of the wheel.

                    7.5" = 191mm
                    205 tire = 205mm

                    Not stretched.

Yeah, but not all tires of an advertised width (such as a 205/50/16) are the same in ACTUAL width.

For example, anyone who has run R-compounds will tell you that Hoosier's are ALWAYS very wide....

.... so a 205/50/15 Toyo RA-1 is NOT going to be as wide as a 205/50/15 Hoosier.

In fact, a 205/50/15 Hoosier is going to be as wide (if not WIDER) than many 225/50/15's.

That's why I posted the question.

I know this. Different tire manufacturers vary on the "listed" width.

I was speaking theoretically, where 203mm is smaller than 205mm, so a 205mm tire will not stretch on a 203mm wheel.

For example, I had 15x8 wheels with 205/50/15 tires. Yeah, the tire curved slightly, but it was by no means stretched. A different 205/50/ tire may have stretched or may have been poofy.

Visually, if the tire's tread is not "squared off" with the width of the wheel, then I think most people will refer to that as stretch.

                          Anyway...

... who knows which 205's out there are the wider ones...?

the aspect ratio also determines how much "stretch" (looks wise) you have.
