I like the BMW exclusive black ones buuut you know silver would look best.

I've never really had a thing for black wheels.

seconded. 17"s are borderlining excessive. not because they look too large for the chassis, but the brakes look like weiner brakes. imo 18"s (like that black one, pidners?) without a comparable larger brake system look gay.
I retired my E30 for now...

Unless you're running Fiskes, BBS, HRE, or M parallels... stick to a 17... Even those look kinda lame with stock brakes.

As many others say, 18's on an e30 usually dont impress me.
But that first pic look damn good! Makes me want to get some.

I didn't know they came that large. Do you mean these ones, that slope back? There's a kid with a BADASS E12 with these on it:

Reason why he can run 18" is the roads in Germany are repaired on a yearly basis or when needed. Unlike most roads here in the US. My suggestion 16" max. Why you still have sidewall to protect your wheels and they will weigh lessand your stock brakes won't look like dimes behind the open spokes.

                But to each there own.

I am running 18s. They are Ro_Ja Formula 7s. Had I paid for these, I would have gone with another wheel that didn't require spacers. But they are a very high quality wheel. I think you can get them for $400 each. I was getting my choice of wheels, so naturally, I went with the biggest, most expensive wheel I could find.

The low sidewall definitely makes the car fun a ton of fun to drive, but from a true performance perspective, it is not the way to go. I kept better traction in the corners with my 16s. I actually just got into this discussion today. You need a little bit of sidwall to give you that side-to-side flex when you initially enter the corners. The less give you have, the more likely the tires are to break free.

I bought my e30 5 years ago, dropped it the same day and brought it to the wheel shop and slapped on some 18's. My only regret i have is that i didn't buy 19's.

When you go really low, 18's are proportionate to the e30 body...TRUST me!

Actually Dan Pinder has Vette Z06 brake parts on his E30 .
                        He's running a 13.2" front rotor and a 12" on the rear .
Nice mod , gotta give him that .

I'm always a fan of bigger diameter wheels and have though about going to 18's on mine .
Plus I would love a big brake kit too , but I'll wait to switch to 5-lug before spending the $$ on new wheels or the brakes .
