Ideal tire size for 17x8 RS's?

Looking to find ideal tire size for 17x8 BBS RS's ET40 with a 10mm spacer going on an '89 325ic. Any input is appreciated.

Low arches thinking smaller 215-40-17 so not to rub.

high offset wheels call for big man sized tires.

215/40-17 will go without rubbing issues on a late model low arch car. You might be able to make the 235/40-17 to work as well (depending on how low you are) without much issue in rubbing.

I am going to be running 245/35-17 on a et26 17x9 on a low arch late model car with H&R races without rubbing issues, albeit the 235/40-17 is a about +/- 1/2" taller than the 245/35-17 I am running...
