    lightweight spare tire options

im thinking of ways to reduce weight without sacrificing comfort/luxury/convinience. right now, there is a fairly heavy bottlecap with some old tire on it in my trunk as a spare. this no longer matches my current wheels or tires, so whats the point in having a full size spare?

hondas have the same bolt pattern and only a 1mm difference in bore (will probably fit anyway). they also come with tiny, lightweight spares. could be picked up for free if you know where to look.

the only drawback is the high offset. anyone know if it would clear front brakes without a spacer? at worse, i guess i can find a used spacer somewhere.

    discuss.

It will not clear without a spacer. Also, you will need to air the tire to a dangerous amount for the tire to properly support the load of the heavier E30.

just leave it as is or remove it and carry a can of fix-a-flat. in any race situation where that 20-40lbs will change your life you will have taken it out already,

i thought of fix a flat, but it wont fix all tire blow-outs and it will leave a disgusting gunky residue on the wheel.
