FYI the 205/50/15 will be about an inch too short on your car. This will probably make your speedodometer be off a little bit. To run a 50s serious you need to go to a 225/50/15. A tenth of an inch or so won't make a difference but nine tenths of an inch will. To maintain the correct overall diameter with a 205mm tire you need to run a 205/55/15. I just thought you might be interested in knowing this info.
I am interested in reading the answers people have to your question. Fortunately in Texas we don't have your problems with the rain most of the time though.
225/50/15's can be too wide onthe rear depending on the offset and suspension. I have them in Toyo T1S on Eta Beta's and they are too wide, they rub bad. 205/55/15 would be better IMO although I do run 205/50 when I have the 15's on
