Aren't the Diamond Racing steelies flat sheet steel in the center? Those lug bolts would tear the lug holes into pieces as you torque them down, which seems to be what happened.

AHHAHAHA Thats great. Shows what happens when someone uses the wrong shit. Maybe if he would have read the site where it says what lugs you are suppose to you that would have never happend. I have been running these wheels for atleast 2 years now with no problems at all.
I actually just got done painting my rears tonight.. :)

Yea I have no sympathy for him. $100 says they are the same lugs he used on his "other wheels" to drive to the course on.

The holes have a raised edgeand the lug nuts/bolts come in contact with the edge of the hole at an angle to the face of the hub. When used properly, steel wheels are very durable.

Basically what happened was he had the wrong lugnuts. They appeared to be the correct seat angle, but the length/taper of the seat was longer so the lugs bottomed out on the hubs before making contact with the lug seats, the wheels seemed to be 'torqued down' and were not. Oops.
