I'm broke, what should I do?

So I have me a nice set of 14" weaves but they were painted white. They are pretty straight and clean but the white paint is taking longer than expected to sand off. Having them blasted is out of the question since I am married/broke. I was just planning on polishing the lips and painting the mesh black, but I do not have the patience to do all that sanding and polishing, I would rather be turning a wrench. So the question is......what should I do with these?

I was thinking of painting the lips silver and then doing the mesh black to try to get the closest result to what I want, but I thought that might look a little ghetto.

I also thought of doing the mesh black and doing the lips metallic red (my E30 is red) but thought that might also look ghetto with a little gay thrown in there as well.

What I am leaning towards right now is just doing the entire rim (or all 4) plain silver. I know its not what I really want but I dont want to roll around putting shame to the BMW name.

Any other ideas would be appreciated. I just want these to look decent till an ok set of rims fall in my lap, I'm thinking a couple years.

14's are small and will probably look dumb painted black with 1/4" silver lip. Sand blasting is cheap, did you look into prices? My vote is paint them all silver.

Depending on what the surface you're painting is like, you could just wet sand it then paint it. But getting the nooks and crannies sanded good enough for the paint to stick long term would be the pain. I would mention using paint stripper, but you mentioned money is tight and figured the wet sand would be a better option in your circumstances.

It really is, but I got these weaves for free and want to get them on the car. I have put tons of work into the car in the few months Ive had it, but its all been under the hood, so I want to make it look a little cooler. The old bottle caps are getting real boring, and they dont look so cool when you are getting sideways pulling out onto the road. I could probably afford some stripper, but I dont want to go through the hassle of paying to dismount the tires, paying to have them blasted, then go through the work of sanding and polishing the lips anyway, then paying to have the tires put back on. I mean, they are just 14" weaves. I want something that looks decent that I wont be ashamed to roll around in. I did find this pic. Maybe something like this, but on a red car?

instead of sanding all of the old paint, you could go pick up a can of paint stripper it will eat that shit right off. That's what I used a few months ago when I repainted my weaves silver again.

If your looking for a good silver spray paint, I would recommend duplicolors engine paint. There is a aluminum color that looks like the oem paint that's on the wheels. That's what I used.

Paint them black, call it good.

Time attacks will look stupid on 14s.

silver, bronze, gunmetal. maybe black. Only one color for 14s. The lighter the color the better IMO with small wheels

Never thought of that. Maybe I will try it. Polished lip then?

Is that what the all black with red stripe is?

I know, smaller wheels are harder to make look good. No polished lip then?

That dont look half bad, and I actually have the centercaps to go with mine. Some lower profile tires and that should look half decent.

Tal Strip air craft stripper from the autoparts store. It bubbles the paint right off, then hit it with a power washer and you will have a clean start. Then prime and paint.

Yes, buy a can of spray paint remover. It will get into the little crevaces and will lift off the paint w/o ruining your tires/tyres/tiyres. Then buy a can of Wurth silver wheel spray from Bav Auto. The Wurth paint is awesome and you will be amazed.
