    New tires..now knocking noise

Hey just got new tires on all fours, but now when I turn right I hear a knocking type noise!. Same size tires as what I previously had on. There was spare tire on the front right when I bought and that where i think the noise is coming from. I have never heard it before though. I was thinking the tire is hitting something. I tried feeling around the tire and didnt feel anything. Turned the wheel all the way to the right still didnt feel rub?
Is it something else on the suspenision?

I just bought the car, I'm not sure what the rims are exactly. But they are 16"

This is the car before I bought it

might not have anything to do with new tires. could be a suspension component in the front right.

otherwise it could be a loose plastic wheel well liner.

do you feel the knock through the steering wheel? is it rotational sounding (knocks several times throughout a turn)? does it just knock once?

No I dont feel it throught the steering wheel. The knock only happens at speeds at about above 10mph and gets faster the faster I am going.
My dad and I took a look and it loooks like the wheels are close to the shocks. Do I need small spacers?
Also when I get my right side up on the curb..no matter the speed the knock happens.

Need the width and offset of the wheels to know how close they are--it should be stamped either on the hub or back of one of the spokes. Is the front wheel bent? Just on the lip in one spot. That may be why it wasn't on the car in the first place.

I had a set of borbets that hit the front strut after being forced offroad over a curb. They were 16x7.5, et30, and barely cleared the strut to begin with. The minor bend in the rim lip caused it to hit the strut on every rotation. Moving it to the rear stopped it from hitting, and I dumped them soon thereafter.

I'll look tomorrow. I'm taking it back into the wheel shop.
The wheel seems to be fine from looking at it.
I just noticed when i was parking in front of my house it would do the noise. I dont have a curve curve its a rounded type thing. So i drove on it more and the noise would occur..meaning that when there is weight on the right it is hitting.

Here are some pics of the space between the shock and the rim. I think its a metal cliip on the inside of the rim hitting the shock.
                  5mm spacers? 8mm?

so glad it was just that little wheel weight and not something more serious :)

idk i think id be concerned with rubbing in corners due to tire flex. id go with spacers to move that tire over. just my thoughts tho. clean ride though. very nice.

and now the tire is out of balance and will wear funny. Take it back and tell them to use stick on weights, and get some 5mm spacers to get a little more clearance to the strut.

Yeah I am going back to get it rebalanced dont worry!
                            Should I get 5mm?
                            just on the front?

I would if it were my car. It looks like those wheels are a front wheel drive offset that barely fits. Tires can deflect under load and possibly hit the strut when they are that close. Keep in mind that any spacer will require longer lug bolts too.

There's plenty more room inside in the rear and spacing them out would only be for looks.
