BBS RS ( Fill then Re-Drill )

Has anyone done this and if so can you post some pics. I picked up some 5x130 porsche wheels and I am also curious if the centerbore is too big for the 4x100 pattern. These are my new aquisition.

15x7 et25 RS001 4x100
15x9 et28 RS080 5x130

The 7's are 4x100.

Im pretty sure they are from an e30 or a vw because i got them from an all european parts shop the fact that the offset is 25 also gives away that they are from an e30

Haha yeah, I didn't even look at the rs #.

Most Porsche wheels have enough meat left on the hub to do a redrill to 4x100 though. Call up a high-end wheel refinishing place near you and see it they do it.

Your problem is not the center bore (fabricating a center-piece / making the hole bigger in lathe is childs play compared to the skill needed to fill the old holes properly).

I'm sure you can, but I'd much prefer to do it to the smaller hub bore of a 5x114.3 RS.

seems like its a lot of playing around for a set of 15" RS wheels, i personally wouldn't bother wasting time or money on filling and drilling the 5x130 centres, better off trying to find a set of 4x114.3 centres with flat backs and redrill them (a lot more common than a 4x100 centre). or if you have enough offset use adapters from 5x130 to 4x100..

You'll need spacers to run the rears, so why not just buy adapters?

I dont want to run adapters .I see what you are saying though and I would only need them for the rear. The rims are 9" wide trying to find the right ET with adapters and then tire combo will be a pain.

What is your reasoning for not wanting to run adapters if you don't mind me asking?

As far as possibilities go with your question, it is possible to fill and drill the wheels. On the Rs wheels, the backing is flat & solid (which is needed) and the porsche center bore leaves enough material between the hub opening and the lugs.

Now you just need to find a machinist or wheel specialist who is comfortable with doing the job and doing it right.

Another option would be to sell all of your wheels as pairs and purchase a set of BBS RM's for more or less the same price, since your going 15's anyhow, it is a cheaper way to get the same look with the option of running different size lips...

Also curious why you are not interested in the adapters? you will need to run a 20-25mm spacer to get the rears to clear the trailing arms, so your still going to need some sort of extension of the hub.

I dont like the work needed to get down to the actual hub. It seems that it will be a pain just to change rotors or pads. Then the safety issue, the extra added weight issue . I was just gonna redrill then run a 20mm hubcentric spacer with centering ring seems easy enough. Do they make 20mm adapters?
