falken ze-912 or bf goodrich g-force sport? 205/55/15 or 225/50

I have narrowed it down to these two tires. I can get the g-force tires at Costco for $105 each, mounted and balanced. I could also get the falkens from discount tire for $85 each, but then I would have to mount and balance. Thoughts??

i love the 912's, very grippy and very affordable. though i never tried the g-force's i wouldn't switch to those from the falkens. just my thought. as for tire size, i would go with 205 so it's not too meaty.

I've been pleased with my 912s. I had some semblance of traction when the rears were new :D

lol the only reason i went with my gforce sports because I wanted to switch them from inside to outside due to my camber...

g-force sport should be grippier in the dry and falken should be better in the wet. Based on what I've read, i'm curious to see if anyone has ever owned both.

I've driven on the 912s, they're not bad tires, but the sidewall's on the soft side. I haven't had the g force sports but I've heard good things about them from everyone who's tried a set. They definitely seem like the sportier tire, however they probably won't last as long and they may not shed water as well.

BFG's make for excellent street/track tires, they can take HOURS of heat and abuse and still look great. They also wear extremely well. But, they are not great in the wet (particularly for hydroplaning...eek) and make some noise.

The Falkens are definitely more street-biased, with very good dry performance and excellent wet. They are quiet and predictable, although they won't last as long as those BFGs.

Essentially, if you have a decent amount of rain go for the 912s. If you have a track or fun roads nearby, you'll prefer the BFGs.

I have had both. I personally prefer the BFG's hands down. It doesnt rain a LOT in so cal, but I also had them in Hawaii and they did just fine.

The 912's sidewalls are too soft and roll too much for me. The do grip well in the rain and make a great DD tire, especially if you have softer suspension where you wont notice the roll as much, but with stage 3's/bils, and some other goodies, they just react fast enough for me.

The BFG's are a great tire, for just a little more money. They are a tiny bit loud, and fairly hard so imo they aren't a *great* track tire, but they did fine when i auto-x them.
I really like the way they reacted compared to the 912's. And they aren't so still that it significant affects the ride.

Thanks guys. I pulled the trigger at Costco. $105 a tire for the BFG g-force sport in 205/55/15. I then get a $60 rebate. So, it will be $90 a tire, mounted and balanced.
