Couple questions for a noob who searched... using wobble bolts

I was about to purchase a set of bbs wheels with a bolt patters of 4X98 and use wobble bolts to make up the difference.
Then i realized that BMW's use bolt and nuts, not lugs.
Can i use lugs on the bmw hubs or do i need to use the oem nut bolt system...

    Thanks for your help!

Here is a picture of wheel in question.

You'll have to verify the offset and if it's not appropriate, you can always run spacers with a hub made to the rims centrebore. Talk to e30rob. He makes really good quality spacers custom to order. Very good guy and he'll help you polish out the details. He went far and beyond the call of service when it came to my spacers.
        Need a part? PM me.

well, i thought it was a stud and nut combination was normal to all e30's, but perhaps its just my car! So i guess i can rock some 12X1.5 lug bolts. Just a bit of confusion.

If your car already has had a stud conversion done to it, just use wobble nuts

Wobble nuts! fantastic. Alright, now that we have the options for mounting, how about the difference in hub size, where the stock hub size is 57.1 the wheel hub size is 58.5 so a difference of 1.4.. will that difference in combination with wobble bolts be of concern? No hubcentric rings are made that thin, and my next option would be to bore out the wheel hub to a size where i could run rings...

Tape around the hub. All the hub really does is center the wheel when you're tightening it.

Aaaah, I don't know about that. I mean yeah, while you are tightening it had BETTER be the only time it can move, but those bitching wobble nuts can shift enough to make a wheel mount crooked, or out of round.

I say hubcentric rings are absolutely necessary on all BMW fitments, especially 4 lug, and double that with wobble nuts.

                        This.

I know several r3v members claim that hub rings are not needed if you "know how to mount the wheel correctly", but hug rings make it much easier and DO serve a purpose. And as Luke said, wobble nuts without hub rings seems like a sketchy setup. Hub rings are cheap and work. Do it!

Yeah, I do not like to half-ass things, and something like wheel vibration will drive me bonkers, so I'm going to get some prices regarding re-drilling/boring out the wheel hub. If its wildly expensive, i may have to walk away from the wheels... Thanks for all the input guys, im glad to see that bmw owners have a good community!

BMW designs it's wheels/hubs so that the hub centers the wheels. Other manufactures use the fasteners to center the wheel. Technically you need to center the wheel using the hub.
