falken azenis? does it matter what side

so these tires are directional and symmetrical i believe is the right term. my question is, is the tread pattern for rain mostly? i have -2.7 degrees of rear camber i want to leave the camber alone. it wears tires unevenly, so every so often i do a rim swap with the tires going to the opposite side of the car then they were, wich extends the life of the tires around 2x for me these tires cant be switched from side to side right but why? is it for rain? would they be fine on the wrong side for summer/ auto x use?
it doesn't rain much here and when it does i dont drive fast.

also any suggestions on other tire options would be appreciated.

You do a tire swap or rim swap? Unless you have +2.7* of camber on the other side you're not going to get more life out of rotating your rears side to side.

But look at that picture, see that one long channel, that goes on the inside of the 615's which means you cant dismount the tire from the rim and flip it, which would be the only way to get even wear. Also these tires are not for the rain, they are usable in the rain but have little to no hydroplane resistance.

The nitto neo gen isn't max performance but in my experience its pretty good, I have maybe 6k miles on a set of them with no noticeable wear and something about the design is supposed to lead to less inner edge wear on cars with a lot of negative camber.

rog, what the above said. they are not directional tires, but they do have an inside/outside.

Yeah but do you guys know for a fact that in dry conditions these tires will react different if the left one goes to the right and vice versa?

Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes. The outer sidewall and tread block is very different, and it would generally suck if reversed. When the RT-615 first came out Falken touted that you could mount them backwards on the rear of a RWD car for drifting.

Hahaha, that is funny! A shame that you can't do the dismount and remount to get some more life out of them... I did that with some Kumho MXs I had, but not you can't do it with XSs since they look like modified Azenis...

not nitpicking, just letting you know that asymmetrical is the term you are looking for.

haha that's awesome I can't wait til mine are almost ready for replacement gonna try that. Although they'll probably be completely optimized for spinning at that point.

At the end of an RT615's life, it will be slick no matter how you mount it.
