    Hartge's refinished....

    Finally picked up my 3pc Hartge's today.........the centre piece is a little darker silver than I wanted but I
    think they'll look great this way too..........now I just need to locate the E30 M3 parts for the 5 lug swap.

    BTW, they turned out to be 16x7.5 & 16x8.5 ET20.

    Weights are below:
    16x7.5 = 16 lbs
    16x8.5 = 17 lbs

            *busts a nut*

            My 3pc Hartges should be finished in about 2-3 weeks. Can't wait 8) Mine are only 16x7 ET25, no crazy amounts of dish like yours unfortunately.

            I like how the centres are a little darker than normal, it gives a little more contrast.

              cheers fellas.......I just hope the centre's aren't too dark for my diamantschwarz cab. That said, I love Jakes Simmons and they are with black centre's.

                I'm getting the centres on mine done black, mostly cos I want to be just like Jake :D . But also because I find my grey Alpinas really boring, I guess I like a bit of contrast.

                I find that with the amount of dish you have Chris, the grey/silver centres look brilliant, but because mine are a little thinner they just end up looking like Design As (the single piece ones)

                  Are they only 5 bolt or are there any 4 bolt replicas runningt around cause those are amazingly hot.

                    There are 4 lug versions of this wheel available but they are near impossible to find.....that's why I finally jumped on these 5x120's. I needed bigger brakes anyways so it worked out great for me.

                    Re replicas, that is a good question. Hartge's wheels, at least this model, were made by OZ Racing, but mine say Hartge Japan on the back. When I first heard of these I assumed replicas until I spoke to the Malay importer who advised they were made by RAYS (same as Volks) for Hartge (Japan).......In other words, Hartge (Japan) had them made locally for the Asian market. After getting them, and seeing they were a quality 3pc & light weight rim, I'm quite sure they are either legit or the best damn replicas I've seen in my life.....I mean come on 16x8.5" and only 17 lbs.....not too shabby in my book. Typically replicas are 1pc and 16'ers can weigh up to 24 lbs.

                    Anyhow, either way I'm very happy with them and I suppose that is all that matters.

                    Sovann: LoL.....please get some pics up when your Hartges are finished....would love to see 'em ;)

                      Mine are four lug... and I'm pretty sure they're genuine. Really light too.

                        very nice ;)

                        I thought I had the 5lug setup sourced but at the last minute the seller got a local offer so he's waiting to see if that pans out..........understandable, but I'm dying here with money waiting to be spent LOL! If that does work out then I'll probably have 'em mounted w/in a month..........if I have to re-source the parts, who knows how long :evil:

                          About the Hartge Germany vs. Hartge Japan wheels... Mine were sourced out of Japan and look very similar to your wheels apart from the width.

                          But if you look at these wheels...

                          ...there's a couple of subtle differences. Most obvious (to me anyway) is that the centres look smaller (cos the outer rims look fatter). These wheels are 16s btw - says so on the tyres.

                          Also, the tyre valve passes straight through the outer rim, rather than through both the outer and centre pieces like on ours. The threaded hole for the centre caps has a protrusion on the German wheels, whereas yours don't (can't remember what mine look like). The outer ends of the spokes also look like they protrude more on the German wheels.

                              Sick! Much lighter than I would've guessed, especially for a 3-pc (2-pc?) wheel.
