Anyone Ever Try Ford/Mercury Wheels on E30?

So I need a new set of tires and want to upgrade wheels while I'm at it. I want:

    - 16x7 or 7.5
    - Mesh
    - Cheapish ($650 max for everthing minus tires)
    - A bit of lip
    - Not Remembers'
    - Something a bit different

    Check these out:

These are the mesh wheels from Ford Crown Vic's/Mercury Grand Marquis, early to mid 90's. 16x7, 5x114.3. Not sure of the offset, looks like it may be too low, but I keep finding conflicting info on the web. I know e30rob sells 4x100 to 5x114.3 20mm adapters ~350 looking at his thread. The ford rims I'd imagine are a dime a dozen at a junkyard. Anyone ever think of this/try it? I doubt it would work but just wanted to get some ideas. If no one knows I might try to hitup a junkyard and take some measurements.

I especially like the rims in the ebay link, looks alot like the exip mesh rims Luke had for sale a few weeks ago.... beautiful rims.

Because Sportmaxx's are a better choice, right?

Ignore the LYFEZTYLE KREW. I want to see what these would look like on an E30. Probably fucking amazing. Do it.

I have been wondering this for a long while. Looks like offset will be a problem unless you want to mexi-poke.

My friend keeps telling me to put those on my E30, I keep telling him the offset is too low.

fox body wheels are 4-lug, ready for a 4x100 drill. These saleen replicas come in a 17x8 w/ 19mm offset.

Exactly. I know there are lots of reps out there that are nice but all those wheels are so common, I wanted to look into something different. The ESM weaves are OK, not a big fan of the fake bolts or caps.

Anyways, from what I read on the web they came in several offsets, but likely are too low. I'm still going to try to measure some out and see what happens.

By the way I'm not looking for opinions on how they look I want hard technical data on if they will work or not (ie offset information, someone tried already). I don't give a shit if you think they look good, I think they would.

I have wondered how these would look for so long, also i have wanted to see what some of the 4x100 mustang wheels would look like on an E30. The cobra reps would look good I think.

I'd look into older Lincoln wheels also, they've got some awesome designs (with center caps so they can be redrilled).
