Help, advice, input plz ESM or Maxxim

I have not been able to locate any BBS wheels in my budget.
I am currently running Konig Imagine in 17s
the 17's are just a tad big for my taste, and I need a little more rubber on the sides.
Looking to buy either ESMs or Maxxim Le Mans Mesh
The ESMs are built for the E30
I would still have to run spacers for the Maxxims that I currently have (20r,15f)
The cost of the ESMs I can get a deal on are $140 more total.
    I have a 2 inch drop, and was looking to run 215 50 16

Also, as a side note, I am taking my 17 BBS style 5s off my E39, and may have them drilled/filled for 4x100

If you were buying wheels in this price range, which ones would you go with?
1)Stick with the current- put money into other mods
    2) ESMs
    3) Wait for the drill/fill possibility
    4) Dish out $550 for the Maxxims

I know this is someone subjective, but I need you opinions to help get me off the fence.

Thanks for the help and input!

ESM supports this site, supports e30 enthusiasts and furthermore provides a really great product. If you are going to spend any money on wheels and like the product, support someone who supports your car. ESM is a win.

(I do not have ESM wheels and have no affiliation to the company)

i run the maxxim le mans and while i like the way they look, they do require a small amount of spacers. if i remember correctly the et is 35 so while they clear fine in the rear, in the front they scrape the strut tube. you might even be able to notch the strut tube a little to make them clear, but i chose to get spacers since i prefer to atleast have a few mm of clearance between moving parts. keep this in mind bc a decent set of spacers and extended lug bolts will cost you a good chunk of change on top of the initial wheel costs. it also adds unnecessary weight

I admit... all things a like- I usually go for the home sponsored team.
ESM has the edge at this time.
