Best size perfomance tires for 14" baskets?

I'm not going to be moving up to aftermarket wheels for at least a few months, so I need to get some good rubber on the baskets for the time being. Since I'm lowering the car this month, I'd like to get something in a good size, that will make the wheel wells fill up a little more, because I'm pretty sure the tires that are on them now are undersized. Do AVS ES100's come in any decent sizes for 14's? What else would you guys reccomend that is cheap? They don't need to be track / ultra high performance tires, just decent rubber.

215/60/14 Thats what I had on my basketweaves, seemed to fit right enough. As low as $43, as high as $99. I don't see any ES100s though.

You had that size tire on 14" stock basketweaves, correct? They fit ok, no issues?

I think I'm going to go with the Yokohama Avid T4. Only $55 each.

Soft all season tires, even the V4s is soft appearently.

But if ur just lookin for everyday all season tires, im sure they'll work fine.

I had ES100's on my basketweaves, they were 205/60/14. They fit with no problems, and the speedo is only off by like 1 mph (60 on dash = 59 for real). They were great tires, and served me well. Too bad I didn't have them when I lowered this thing, they would have been a lot more fun.

They are strictly no snow tires though. I almost died driving with these in a sudden snowstorm on my way home. Now I got allseasons...

Also, that size fills up the well nicely, my tires in my sig are the same size.

FWIW, the e30 speedo is already very optimistic, so an oversize tire will only get it closer to the correct reading. My almost 1" oversized 205/60-15 tires make the speedo very close to accurate, according to a gearing and rpm.

There are now more people backing up the 205's, and you can get the ES100s in that size, sooo, I would go with 205s.

The best size performance-wise are undersized. 195/60/14 Azenis Sports will provide more performance than any other street tire for basketweaves. Plus the smaller diameter shortens the gears a noticeable amount and it also lighter, great acceleration.

Try chipped, and 4.23 rear end on the highway. Car flies from 80 to 110.

This is the tire size you want, not 215. It's a little baloony on 6.5" wide wheels.

It's a damn shame they don't have 14" avs-100's in Canada.

Im sure their engineers did more thinking than bigger is better.
