I spent a small amount of time doing some sanding and prep work to get an idea of what my bottlecaps would look like if I tried to refinish them.
Before:

I am debating whether to pick up a powder coating setup but I will see how the paint turns out first. I plan on finishing them in the same/similar silver color.
Note that the "6Jx14" and all the raised lettering has been ground off. There are the two recessed stamped symbols, they can stay.
I will be fitting flat center caps when I have it all finished. I am still figuring out where to find flat center caps. I will try the 2002 Accord V6 center caps first, as they are flat and I have used them on other wheels with great success.
Primered with a nearly empty spray can that wasnt shooting out consistently and ran out of paint to early.
During:

Like I said, I kinda rushed through the prep work, If it turns out alright with the less careful prep, then I will spend some good time getting everything sanded and finished up nice.
****UPDATED****
I am not very satisfied with the results. I mean, I was able to get rid of a lot of blemeshis by sanding, but I had higher expectations for the final result.
Im going to go ahead and pretend like I know what I am doing and/or talking about and say that the metal flakes are too large, which makes even delicate wet sanding difficult. You can see a splotch from the clear coat and clearly I suck at painting. I am going to work on my painting skills (just using a rattle can) and try to find a paint with less metal flake in it.
Re-finished on left, an untouched wheel on the right.
