    Direzza dz101 vs Nitto neogens

Finally broke down and ordered some dz101's the other day after a few months of tire shopping. (290 shipped!) Really came down to price, as the DTD salesmen was drooling on me for a sale after i price matched a few things. He told me either of these two i could have for that price.

Its not too late to switch, and my impression of the Nitto's seem a little better for my needs. Less TW but is specifically camber friendly sidewall, and non directional. There will be a little stretch, and Id like them to last as long as possible. Im sure the DZ's are stickier and W rated vs V, but Im not sure Ill need the extra performance for the street. Keep in mind, no snow or ice here, and will only be driven on the street. Anyone have experience with either of these two?

I've got a set of 205 50 15 Nitto Neogens on 7"wide BBS's... but I don't really care too much for them. I can break them down two ways:

Street: They're pretty good. Great in the dry, and pretty good in the wet. Predictably break lose in the wet, which is nice, and quite quiet and smooth. Now that I have used them most of the summer, I'm finding that the tread has not cambered away that badly on the rear which I'm also happy about.

Auto-x: Not great, but I'm not about to switch. Running on street pressure, the sidewalls collapse badly and scub a lot. Running on slightly higher pressure, they push more, and still roll over the sidewalls. up the pressure a bit more and they feather. Overall, they handle quick swerves well, but not tight figure 8's or tight hairpins. Basically, I think the tires are not capable of matching the performance of the car.

If you just need them for the street, i'd say they're worth a try... but I think my next set will be the DZ101's

We use Neo Gens on our crap can race cars because they are cheap and wear well. I have a set to use as my wet tires for my track car.

They ship fast, they were on the truck that day. So its 60 bucks to ship them back, and the salesmen will give me another 10 bucks off. So 50 more to get the neogens.. eh. Its probably worth it considering how much longer they'll last.. Not sure its worth the hassle.
