    Can I run 185/60/14?

Hey guys, I have stock 14inch basket weaves on my 318is and right now I'm running the stock 195/65/14's. For my next set of tyres I want to run 185/60/14 because I can get much better tyres in this size, I'm wondering if anyone has tried running 185/60/14 and if it effects the speedometer reading alot and also if it would cause the odometer false readings or any other negative effects?

    Thanks.

Just out of the box, you'll suffer from an odo that reads long and a speedo that reads fast. You're going skinnier and shorter, a double negative. :)
195/65 will have a nominal sidewall of 125.75mm
185/60 will have a nominal sidewall of 111.00mm.
You'll be at 88% of the circumference, and so your odo and speedo will both read fast by 13%. At an indicated 100kph you'll be only going an actual 88kph.
To get an actual answer you need to know the real tire sizes, as all 195/65/14 tires aren't 125.75+335.6+125.75 = 607mm in diameter, they vary a bit.
    Hope that helps.

ps. So the Aussie e30 didn't get the Euro 15" weaves either?

Well I thought they did, but I found out mine are actually 14's.. so I'm not sure.

So it looks like 185/60/14 will be a bad idea, are there any road sport tyres like bridgestone potenza that I can get in a 195/65/14 or maybe a 195/60/14?

      Thanks for the helpfull reply!

What I plan to do soon! But right now I need new tyres for my 14's and I'm not keen on crappy ones again haha. Last time I checked with tyre shops there was nothing very good in 195/65/14. Reckon I could run 195/60/14 without problems?

          cheers.

Ok cool, I'll call a few tyre shops tomorrow but untill then anyone wanna reccomend any tyres in 195/60? I want a road-sport tyre/anything with good cornering grip.
