    Adapter thickness

Is there a certain thickness, at which an adapter is not safe? The wheels I'm looking at are et 63, and I was thinking that an 50mm would bring the wheel to a somewhat moderate distance from the fender. I.e. an adapter that's 50mm thick isn't safe, or puts too much stress on the axle? Thanks in advance.

20mm is the minimum you should run.
