    what is the widest tire you have been able to fit on a 16x8 rim?

    225 will be the limit, mainly because finding 235s in 16 inch and the right sidewall height is pretty much impossible.

          and what offset +15, +25? I have +15's running 215 55 in the rear and fronts are 205 55. stock height for now. I don't want to slam the car. CO roads kinda suck.

            I have the same question. I want to run Dunlop Starspecs this summer, am I going to need 10mm spacers up front to run 225 50 r16's on et30 rims?

            My current (and worn out) tires are 215 40 r 16's and they fit fine.

                find the sectional width in the specs for the tires. some tires run wider from sidewall to sidewall. for instance, my old 205/55R15 BFGs were the same maximum width as my new 215s so they have the same fit in relation to the strut tube.

                your 225s will be theoretically 5mm closer to the strut tube, so if you fit now, theoretically a 5mm spacer will suffice.
