Are there any downsides or risks associated with drilling a 5x114.3 to 4x100?

Looking to possibly have this done, and was wondering: besides chipping/damaging finishes, does this effect the structural integrity of the wheel at all?

    Thanks!

Can you elaborate? I'm assuming it weakens the rim at the bolting point...is it to a point where it's risky?

If you plan on having the 4x100 holes filled/welded first, it will be fine. Otherwise, the holes will overlap and create weak points.
