ok, I think 16's would be good :) I'm convinced. NOW, I need to figure out how stretched tires work, cause I love the look. (and I want the specs; like pricings and if it's a bad thing or a good thing on a rim) I need some experienced knowledge.

Stretched tires only look good if your favorite color is rainbow.

16x7.5 all around 215/40/16 lightly rolled rear fenders with 8mm spacers out front and 15mm out back. Currently under surgery to get the front wheel gapping corrected.

It's your car...if you want stretched tires, go for it.
Obviously, when you stretch tires on those Borbet type A's they will be at greater risk of damage from potholes and such. That is why you will see so many bent wheels in the VW community. There are more issues but It isn't really my thing so I don't know them all. I may stretch some on my next VW or who knows, maybe the e30?
If you want to see what tires will look like stretched on specific size wheels, go to: http://www.tyrestretch.com/
Alot more info on stretching will be found on the VW forums like VWVortex.
Get those Borbets and stretch some rubber on them...F**k all the haters!
naw, I thought about it... and I'm not really financially set to buy new tires every 4 months or so. I would rather get a little more expensive sport tires and enjoy those for a year or two :) plus, the handling and performance will be excellent with the coilovers im getting ;) oh yeah!!!
I'm running a staggered setup of type A's with 225/45/16 in the rear and 215/45/16 in the front. Some people (JAMES) still complain about the "stretch" but honestly, if you can't really see the entire lip, it's not that stretched.
Run what fits, honestly. Depends on your low and if you go 16x9 all around, just in the rear or stick with the very, very classy 16x7.5 on all four corners.
