    Polish wheel techniques?

    Guys,

not sure if this is/was covered in this forum but perhaps we can contribuite for the best methods to obtain a mirror polish from our rim lips/centres when we restore them and take care of them after being refinished for the long life of it. Maybe a sticky?

Alright, lets get started. How do you get that shiny/mirror look from the wheel lips/centers?
I have been searching for different types of machines with different types of buffers that would do the trick, and it's pretty simple from the videos I have seen. Seems that you need large diameter semi flex buffer wheels at (unknown RPMs) to get inside deep for those wheels that are 2-3 piece and has complex/wide wheel lips to do the job correctly.

    Few examples of polish techiques:

What are the aluminum paste/polish compound we should look for our stainlees steel , steel or aluminum wheels that is special formulated for each kind of metal to be worked and get that mirror finish and mostly important AVOID the swirls/lines that most polish jobs I have seen leave on the wheels? Of corse this should go together with the type of buffer wheel while doing the wheel polish machine job like the links provided above.

Check the finish look of the centre of this rim, that's what I would like to get. Skeep to min 7:30 or so.

Then we talk about products that mostly are coats to protect from the harsh enviroment on our wheels. For alu wheels we know they rust as well, different kind of rust, but in the end is rust! Some like to apply clear coat but problem with it, is that with some little time it starts to peel off and that's because of the super polished surface doens't help the clear coat get sticky.

Searching for products found these, any personal experience or opinions?

Then we have some kits out there , cone/round/ball etc type of foams to apply different coats or polish stuff.

I have been curious as well, most of what I have used in the past has been sub-par.

I would be interested to see this. I can't seem to get the swirls out of my lips.

        powerball is awesome

deep scratches and swirls might take some sanding with high grit aper, not going straight to compund
