Difference between front and rear offsets

Hey, if you put the same size/offset wheel on the front and rear, the front sticks out further than the rear by a little bit. Does anyone know the difference between the two? I am looking for spacers that will bring the rear to be flush with the front but am not sure which size will accomplish this.

the difference is around 7mm.

I like a 10mm spacer on the rear to make it look even. It of course depends on if you have camber adjusted or not also.
