I think that they are ok but your gonna need some spacers...at least 10-15mm. 205-50s for a bit of stretch but you can put more tire there and still look good.

I would say smaller than 205-50's, I run 205-50's on a 9 inch wide rim, and had the same size on my old 7.5 inch wide rims w/ absolutely no stretch. Just my 2 cents. But what color are you looking at getting? Just wondering.

stretching looks good and is just fine with me...

but stretching on a 7.5" on an E30 is a waste.... no reason to recommend him a smaller tire when all it'll do is look like his E30 is on skis. There's nothing wrong with a 205 on that setup. There's a place and a time for stretching tires, but just stretching for the hell of it has no place. The car will not even be flush without massive spacers anyways. The purpose of stretching is for fender clearance so your car can be LOW and flush in case you forgot.

with that said I've used 205/50/15's on a couple of my E30's and I liked the height of them. I'd research your tire options so you are getting the most bang for buck.

I'd only run stretch with low offset wheels so it can clear the guards. Et30 with a 7.5" width is barely pushing it in terms of fitment. Stretching the tyres on that wheel would look dumb because you'll be creating more clearance between the wheel and the guard (where it doesn't need to be done) and as grippymonkey put it, the tyres will look like skis. And that's never really cool is it guys.

^ typical E30 wheel fitment is in the et20's or +20's depending on how the wheel company lists it. I personally wouldn't do less than a 7.5 or 8" on an E30 unless it was just something to rare or cool to deny. I used a 15x8 +20 with 205/50/15 on my old Cabrio and I thought it was pretty good. Some people would say get a 205/55/15, but for me I wanted the car to be a little lower and have less sidewall. In the end you will have to do a little research to find what is the best setup for YOU. You can ask the question "what is the best" on a car forum and get ten different answers. If you just want someone to do it for you... well you can always plug in your year/make/model into a website like Tirerack and they will pump out a wheel/tire package for your car. There isn't hundreds of wheels available for the E30 either so you can kind of browse around on R3V for a little while and see what wheels people are using that fit E30's.
