    Rota Grid 17x9

Anybody know how well this wheels will fit?

I am planning on running them with either 245/40/17 or 255/40/17 The fenders will be cut out and flares added. I just need to make sure they will fit as far as on the inner side of the wheel.

    You'll need spacers. 15-20mm.

Spacers and studs would be OK, just not ideal. Nothing unless you go custom.

SSR makes a lightweight Lotus 17x9 (like 16.8lbs) 4x100, but would still need spacers and $2200 a set.

You're best bet is to wait until APEX does the next group buy on their 17x8 ET25 BBS copies, and just run a 235/40/17.

That will be plenty of rubber.

Yeah if i go with 235 it is easier to stay with 225/50/15 in a kuhmo v710
The kuhmo 225/50/15 actually runs .1 inch wider tread that a 235/40/17

Actually you would barely need spacers. The rear will bolt on no problem and the front would clear with a 5mm spacer. You might need slightly larger ones though depending on how far your tires stick past the lip.

              Hmm now this sounds promising
What is a safe size spacer to run on a race care?

Any size spacer would be safe to run as long as you get longer bolts/studs to match.

The wheel maybe, but with a 255? And the deflection that will come under hard use?

I mentioned that he might need larger then 5mm depending on how ballooned the tire is. You quoted it right there.

                      That was my sarcasm.

As your response kind of boiled down to "You won't need spacers that big, unless you run the tires you said you were going to."

A 255/40 in any of the sticky tires has an ~10.2-10.4" section width.

what would be a good offset to run in a 17x9 with a meaty tire?
                        would et10-15 work?

You forget that a 9" wide wheel measures 10" wide from lip to lip. 255/40's are pretty much square on a 9" wheel. With et15 a 17x9 wheel lip should clear the strut by about 3-4mm, and the strut only gets further away from there. The most he would need is an 10mm, not 15-20 as you say.

Did anyone end up grabbing a set of 17x9 grids?

                            Looking to run them.
