can somebody confirm with me on measuring offset?

My wheels do not have the offset stamped on them so here's what i got:

    16x9
    10" total width
    6" backspacing

    therefore

    offset= 1" = 25mm?

I am about to order adapters so I wanted to make sure they would fit.

I'm no expert at all, but I think you are a little off. Because it is a 16x9, so you use the 9" as the width. Measuring from lip to lip is not accurate. So, 9" total with 6" backspacing (is that still correct then?) give 1.5" which is 38.1 mm.
    Look at this

Someone please correct this if I am wrong!

well looking at that picture it shows that the centerline of the wheel is the direct center regardless of measurement from bead to bead, or lip to lip. It is difficult to get a correct backspace measurement when going from the bead seat, so going from the outermost lip should give you the same numbers. Thats my thinking at least, any other input would be appreciated

Centre line doesnt change. If you measured bead to bead to work out centre line it will still be in the same place, just easier measuring from the lip.

So i agree with what you posted above. 5" from either lip is the centre line, if back spacing from the lip is 6" then et must be 25mm.

alright thats what I thought. Man the guy I bought these wheels from is lucky because the wheels are stamped 16x9 et49.....which is what I thought I was buying..

luckily I now can use smaller adapters and have a bigger lip!

Wait, they are stamped, and you are doubting the spec? Are they rebuilt three piece wheels, or one piece?

oops i forgot i wrote that in the first post....i wrote that so there was no confusion as to why I was asking the offset haha.

The wheels are three piece so they must have been mismatched sometime in their lives.
The centers are stamped 1991 manufacture date and the barrels and lips are stamped 1989

You got it right, in reference to the first comment you are meant to use overall width not the captive bead area to calculate
