    the tire situation...

I've searched on and off for weeks for a set of tires and have a delimma. I have a set of 17x8 and 17x9 both et20 filled and redrilled style 5's. I'm on koni adjustables and H&R sports but I will be going lower once I get these wheels mounted. My ideal tire sizes would be 215/40/17 (or 205/40/17) front and 225/40/17 rear. I need them to be the same series tire, but the only 225/40 I'm able to find is a Nitto nt 555 and the 555's don't come in a 215/40 or 205/40.

I guess I'm going to have to sacrifice and run a different size on the back. What do you guys suggest? I'm looking for a slight stretch, nothing to compromise the integrity of the tire, but still want them to have a little meat on them. Definately don't want my wheels wrapped in rubberbands. I'm looking for equistretch, but if the front stretch a little less than the rear I guess that'd be fine.

I believe Yokohama S drives run a little wide, maybe I can get narrower sizes; maybe 205/40 front and 215/40 rear. I'm just scared of going that narrow. Anyone have experience with these or have any other suggestions? I'm kinda hitting a brick wall on this. Don't have a lot of extra cash, so making the right decision is a must. Thanks guys.

Yokos s drives suck. Tread squirm, horrible grip, and noisy. 215s on a 9" are not too bad. All depends on the tire as some run narrower then others. What about running 225/35/17's in the rear or better yet 235/40/17s in the rear.

I'm wanting some slight stretch, 235/40 would be pretty square. 225/35 is an option, but I don't think it'll be enough meat. Decisions decisions.
