    sport/performance tire recommendations

I'm about to install a set of filled and redrilled Style 5's that are 17x8 and 17x9. I've finally decided to run 215/40/17 front and 235/40/17 rear. I need a recommendation on what tires I should go with. I want something that is high performance in the dry and wet as well as a decent tread life. I also want to keep the road noise to a minimum. I've been looking at the BFG G-force, ADVAN AD08, S-Drives, etc... but can't decide due to reports of road noise, poor tread life, or lack of performance. I can't seem to find a good all-around tire to suite my needs. Anyone with experience have any suggestions?

AD08s aren't the quietest, but they will absolutely kick the crap out of the other tires you've listed.

I don't particularly feel like looking up whatever other tires are candidates in those sizes, but I'd be happy to give an opinion if you do.

I'm finding other tires that I like better than the AD08's, like the Potenza RE-11, but they don't come in those sizes. How's the tread life on the advans? These are going on my spiritly driven daily.

Treadlife is reasonable. It all depends on your perspective, though.

Now I'm highly considering the yokohama s-drives and the bfg g-force sport. Any thoughts on these or other comparable rubber?

I would not necessarily have my eyes set on a set tire size if I were you. RE-11s are amazing tires and I would definitely pick up a set if I wasn't set on the extra insanity of the RS3s.

Additionally, 215/45 is closer in rolling diameter to 235/40 than 215/40 is. Food for thought.

Yea, but it's slightly larger, def don't want a reverse rake... althought it is only a 2.75mm difference in height. Wonder if the 45 would rub up front though, I will be dropping it a good bit with the GE group buy spring with 450f/650r rates on adjustable konis. I'll check out the RE-11s. Damn all the decisions...

Checked out the RE-11s, looks like their treadwear rating is extremely low. I'd like them to last a while. Their utqg is only 180, the bfg's and the yokos are 340 and 300 respectively.
