    MemoryFab 17x8 RS's

Well i'm Looking for a set of 17" BBS RS. Could use some help so I don't make a bad choice. I know there are alot of BBS junkies out there who know the market inside and out. I'm sure a custom rebuild by memory fab is $$$ so I will try and stay budget minded for now, Black Forrest Industries can wait for now.

So fenders rolled flat on a 91 318is, preferably a 45 series tire. Hit me with some options as far as all that goes to make this car look the part. I figured I could get adapters to put me where i want offset wise, and skip the fill and drill if it saves me a few hundred.

With those offsets you can safely run adapters to make it work. You will need to roll your rear fenders to reduce rubbing. I believe the minimum thickness is 18mm for the 4x100 to 5x114.3 application.

My suggestion would be to run a 22mm up front for a final offset of et18 and a 30mm for a final et of 10. This would also give you room for larger lips down the road if you wanted, but that would require extensive work.

You are looking at around $250-300 for adapters. I'm not sure of the cost of a fill & drill. If you did fill & drill, you would need spacers to make them fit but you would have more opportunities to add different lips. Again, the lips would cost you more money down the road.

    Hope that helps!

Very good point you make. What you are saying is if i just get adapters for $300 i'm locked in with that final fitment on that set of lips, then when i go to rebuild with say 3" stepped lips i'm going to have to spend the money again and then some...

I don't like them. For 9" wheels they don't have nearly as much lip as i'd like. You could get a fully refinished set of re-drilled e39 style 5's for the price of those and adapters.

they're 8s, Nigel. And the lack of lip is due to that high offset.

OP, check out vrwheels.com. They have a similar set of wheels for less than MemoryFab. I personally dont like memoryfab but thats just me.

                  They are actually staggered. 17x8 et43 and 17x9 et40

I would fill and drill these bad boys
