Why does it need a new center cap?

Nut on Center Cap is damaged

Chrome Nut is damaged but bowl is good. $40 -$60 fix off e-bay.

This nut is held on to bowl with a C-Clip that is included, the switch would take 5 minutes once you have parts.

      Thanks,

Is the chrome nut bowl you're referring to? Is the chrome nut inside of that aluminum foil bowl? Can you send me an ebay link to the repair kit for this so I can see what I'm getting myself into?

That bowl looking mess should come off with some kind of a retention clip. Then you'll have the waffle looking piece with a hole in it. Then you take the big nut looking thing from the ebay link and put it in the hole and pop the clip back on the backside of it. Then you use that nut to turn the whole centerpiece and tighten it down onto the wheel.

So the repair is actually replacing that bowl looking mess with a large nut. It's not really repairing anything seller is just missing that piece. Expect to pay about $100 to fix it (nut is about $65 and you'll need to find the plastic insert for around $40). There third picture he linked to is what it should look like, I have no idea where that bowl came from.

Might want to have mods move this to the wheel/tire FS sub forum.
