Post up e30s on big tires

I am finishing up the project of mounting 255/40/17 tires on my car.
This made me realize how much work it is to get a large tire under our cars. So lets see some other examples.

    I will start with mine.

I think it'd be so awesome if you colormatch the flares.
    Like an old datsun.

I might later, for now a quick spray of wrinkle black did the job. the car is pretty beat up body wise so it is more function over form at this point.

195/55/16 got a good deal on them, but switch them to 195/50/16. Recently looks better now.

No offense but i was more talking about large wide tires that bigger rims. 195 is pretty narrow.

My old car (recently sold) on 235/40/17. The particular tires I had run wide though and are more like 245.

OP, Was the flares required for the rear? Or it is just for the front that it is really required and the rears are there to match the front?

I will put 255/40R17 on rear and 235/40R17 up front. I will try to avoid flares. Is it possible according to your experience?

I really like your flare setup! You managed to clear the gas cap!
