BBS rs bolts: chrome or stainless?

Looking to get new bolts for my rs's and wanted some opinions on either going with chrome plated ones or stainless.

You should get whichever will make you happy since they will be on your car and you will have to look at them every day. ;)

Is there a benefit to one over the other? The chrome should be shinier but do people have issues with the plating coming off?

Also, where is the BEST place to buy bolts? I've been reading some things about black forest industries bolts not being real high quality.

Chrome can rust/pit where as stainless will not. Stainless usually has a weaker yield strength than mild steel(what they use if not stainless). Holding them next to each other you would see the stainless is slightly gold in comparison to the chrome due to the nickle in them. That being said, I'm sure either are fine but I would go stainless due to the corrosion resistance.

My personal favorite is to keep the OE BBS bolts and refinish them.

Favorite set to date was removed, cleaned, plated with black oxide, and semi gloss cleared.

i'd go stainless because chrome will eventually get pitted and flake off whereas stainless will not.

You can always polish stainless too...

When I did my style 5's, I did this. I Polished the heads with mothers then clear coated. However if I had to buy new, I would have bought stainless
