sand blast or not?

my friend has a sandblaster and he says i can use it for my style 5s, but i dont feel like taking my wheels over to his place. Would sand blasting my wheels make a difference in final outcome and durability or can I just getaway with sanding the wheels down and clean with mineral sprits, prime, paint, and clear?

Just make sure your using a fine sand. It wont hurt the metal. In my opinion, sand blasting is your best bet cause sanding and mineral spirits will wear your patients....LOL
