    Continental Extreme DW ?

    Have you used them?

    How did you like them?

What size did you use and on what rim size?

Seeing that 225-45-16 is getting scarce I am debating getting some of these for my 16x8.5 BBS and some for my Hartge's that are on worn out Hankook RS2's.

Seriously nobody except Constructor? He doesn't post here all that much and I really doubt he has but 3K miles on his yet.

I have em on my street rims. They are 205/50s on a 16" wheel. I really liked em, I tracked them four times before getting my track setup (Nitto NT05s). They are not track tires obviously, they will get greasy failry quickly. But the wear was ok, still have at least half life left on those after a year of daily driving and 4 track days where I was at the limit of the tires all day long.

They have a soft sidewall, are quiet and very light. When they give away they are very progressive, and they are phenomenal in the rain. I haven't been able to try them in the winter since phx doesnt have winter. I have another buddy that runs that size you want on his Alpina B7 turbo and he is really happy with them too. Hope that helps!

oh yeah very cheap too on tire rack

I plan to use them as intended purpose of street tires. They are not R comps just quick road tires that have decent wear and are quiet.

not a winter car so no issues there.

doubt it. Mine were pretty much spot on, can't find any pictures right now though. Your setup should be good.

I had a set on my E39 and loved them - 235/45-17s on 17x8.5 Style 42s. Whisper quiet, plenty sticky and very predictable on dry pavement; plenty of grip on wet. I got about 20k out of them (just replaced them with DWSs), and bought a set for my E30 which are mounted to wheels but not yet on the car - 205/50-16s on 16x7.5 RGPs. I can snap a pic if you like.

I'd like to see these, if you wouldn't mind. These are the sizes I'm thinking of doing. Thanks!

Word among autocrossers is that the Extreme Contact DW is an incredible tire in the wet. Fastest street tire going for wet use ... says Andy Hollis.

Thinking these are not going to work for me in a 8 to 8.5 width rim. I really dislike the stretched tire look.
