    205/50's on a 16x8.5/9?

    Hey guys,

I have been browsing the internet for 2 or 3 days now trying to figure out what tires to run on a set of 16x8.5 salad shooters.

16" tires are not very common so I'm hoping some one here can help me. 205/50r16's are very abundant and cheap so I was hoping someone could post up some pictures of a 205/50 on a 16x8.5 or even a 16x9.

Yes, I have checked tyrestretch.com and seen some pictures.

Also, do DZ101's tend to run slightly wide?

    Thanks!

Not for this. I will give the fitment thread a try, though.

I just picked up some 205/45s from discount tire for $65 each I think, falken 512s though.

I would definitely go for that if I could find some. Do you think a local store might have them because they sure don't have them online?

Thanks for the answers but it's not an issue anymore. Turns out they were 9.5's despite what the ad and the guy said when I asked about them... 9.5's would be a little too aggressive upfront for me.

Well I was originally looking at getting some Enkei 92's or OG San's but then I found these for $100 and couldn't pass it up...

I run went with 205/50 Fronts on 8.5 wheel and 225/45 Rears on 9.5 wheel. I am happy how it turned out. I have just enough stretch on the rears to clear the fenders.

For the best tire price you have to go to Discount Tire Direct not Discount Tire there is a difference in price and shipping is free. I've bought many sets over the years on the site... shop tires by size not your car. If you need size conversions Powerdog has a nice size comparison tool.

I'm gonna put my 2 cents in and say 205/45/16 or 205/50/16 Federal 595 RS-R's.

                              Why?

                              1. Tire size is underrated. 205mm 595 RS-R's are actually as wide as a 215mm.
                              2. Dirt cheap. I picked up my 205/45/16 RS-R's for $360 total after tax.
                              3. Gobs and gobs of grip. About on par with RS3's or Star Specs
                              4. Pretty quiet and comfortable.

I am running them on 16x8 E38 Style 5's and they fit right on with minimum stretch. So on a 16x8.5 or 16x9 they will fit nicely (stretched, but if that's your thing, they'll work...). I got mine from OnlineTires.com.
