I would suggest going a 225/45/16 square setup vs the 50 ratio in the rear. You have coilovers and the Rotas have a nice flush et20 fitment. as you can see from my picture I posted above.

Also remember you want to stay in a good area of stock combo(590-610mm total wheel/tire height)195/60(5)/14
225/45/16 will put you roughly 608mm

225/50/16 will be very tall(632mm) almost 4mph faster reading and over an 1" taller than stock fitment vs going the 45 route.

Worth every bit the extra, read the reviews online. Never seen them score low. They handle great in dry and wet, and not loud all the way down to the threads. I was going to get those before opting for the G-force sport Comp 2 because of the higher wear life. I am going with the RA-1 for track use, I just wanted a nice high performance tire for daily use that will get me more than 50k out of them. The Toyos will destroy the track so that is what I am doing for meats.

    good luck

So you're looking to run sticky as hell tires for a daily? The BFG KDW2 would be best of both worlds. But I think it is more than you're willing to spend.

You just said you're not tracking that much, so the KDW2 would be a great tire if you're willing to spend the little more for those.

Edit: A mod needs to move this to the tire and wheel section.

The Yoko S.Drives are good till they wear down a bit. Not the best one to run IMO, granted they are cheap...so is the performance/wear and they are loud. I used to have a set on my OZ weaves 14x7

Edit: A mod needs to move this to the tire and wheel section.

    My next sets are:

    Daily: BFG G-Sport comp 2
    215/40/17(Front) 235/40/17(rear)

    Track: Toyo RA-1
    15x8/15x9
    225/50 square

I had a set of S.Drives on a previous car. They were great for the first half of their life but not so much in the second. That and they got noisier as they wore - and they weren't that quiet to begin with. The DWs on the E39 (a heavier car than the one shod with the Yokos) were easily the best tire I've ever owned up until the day I had to replace them.

thanks this is exactly the sort of responses I was hoping to get. I am only mildly happy with my yokos and threw them in to the comparison because they fit the price range.
