    16" or 17" What's the consensus?

Trying to decide which route to go. Typicality I love larger wheels, but I've seen some amazing E30's rocking 16s, so I thought I would ask.

What is the feeling from R3V about wheels size?

In terms of performance, comfort, style, cost...etc.

What seems to be the sweet spot?

16" is where you will currently find the most tires in correct sizes.

16s just look better for the size of the car... there are a few exceptions, but most E30s I see with 17s look like ass.

Too big of a wheel and it looks like a conestoga wagon, or prarie schooner.
I find this to be my opinion regarding any passenger vehicle. But they are staggered, yo!

                  Could be bigger. ;)

So it looks like 16s are the way to go.

What size tire is recommended for a 16x7 or 16x7.5?

I have 16x7 with 205/50/16. I when with a 50 profile to have the correct load rating. But they look to meaty I think 205/45/16 look alot better on a 16x7 wheel.

17s look good if your car is pretty well put together aesthetically. I got 17s for mine because the tires I wanted weren't available in 16" and they looked a little oversized until I got my Reiger lip/splitter and "is" skirts. After that they fit the car perfectly. 16s look great either way, though.

17 really look that much better on a tech2? i'm torn between 16's and 17's, especially since 17" rs's seem to be much more expensive.
