I've searched and searched with no luck. Basically I want to get the biggest tire on a 16x8.5 et15 all around that I can without pulling the fenders or rubbing. Mystikal suggested 215/45 but I really want to avoid stretching tires again and having to be slammed to fill the wheel well. Any pics or thoughts? An option may be to shave some of the wheeling backing to around et20ish but I'm not sure how much offset you can gain on a 8.5. Thanks in advance for the input.

how much material can you actually shave? remember you need to have enough metal for the lugs to securely mount the wheel.'84 318i M10B18 147- Safari Beige

Not sure exactly, 5mm-ish? I'm sure it wouldn't be much and it's not really a route I want to go.
Any experience with this size? Kumho Ecsta XS and Falken Azenis 615K seem to be the best options.sigpic

got a similar setup on 17's, you'll have some stretch if you are only fitting 215's, so if you want to avoid stretch you are going to need to go wider. With my 17's and the car pretty low, im running 8mm spacers in the front to make the wheels clear the coilovers, on stock suspension you should be able to clear the strut ok. Only time mine rubs on the front is on really terrible driveways, otherwise it never rubs when driving on the road.
If you take some off the flange to make them ET20, might run into rubbing problems with the strut. Are the wheels you are looking at 8.5" wide bead to bead or edge to edge? could make a big difference when it comes to fitmentJust a little project im working on
