Masters of poke/spacers, open this thread.

    I have 205/40/16s wrapped on Borbet type E's. The Borbets are 16'' x 7.5, et 35.

I need to rune some hubcentric rings, and it seems like I will need to run some spacers (seems to be rubbing/cuttin it close on the inside of the wheel to the strut assembly).

I have JOM coils coming in soon. I basically want to poke out about the same as the red e30 coupe, or the last picture posted in MightyWhiteys first page.

I will be pming him about his offset if I can find his username. But from what I read, you want anything 20 ish and lower. This will be on my daily, so I do not want to compensate too much turning (I have no problem rolling fenders) and do not want to completely anniliate my wheel bearings.

Just looking for the boarder of safety and looks. What would you guys recommend running?

My guess is that you're gonna want about 25+mm spacers all around. That's a bit more poke than my 16x9's and they're et 10 front and 15 rear after spacers.

Oh and you may wanna run adapter style spacers because it's safer than ~30mm spacers on extended lugs.

Ok, Sorry didn't see the sticky. I posted in there aswell.

I haven't had much experience w/ spacers, but since the load on the bearing is being relocated because of spacers, what would be a safe distance before really starting to kill your bearings?

Its just I commute 45 minutes a day 5 days a week for work, and some of the roads aren't the nicest. Plus, I will be decently lowered too, so I just dont want to kill them off (i killed a new vw hub and bearing off in 3k miles, reguardless the wheels needed hubcentric rings which I didnt have but still).

That I can't really tell you. My feeling is that you can't get the fitment you want without spacers that will mess up your wheel bearings.

Why do you want to poke 7.5" wheels? It's going to look goofy since the width is narrow.
Like your car is on tippy-toes. Especially with those way 205/40 undersized tires.

              It will look goofy.

Put a 205/45 on it or something slightly bigger, get 20mm spacers(still not going to poke at all), and call it a day.
Or get new wheels for the look you're going for.

I can't offord 1k wheels for a daily, these were a good price. I'm not looking for hellaflush just something that sits a little further out and is lower. Why would I run 45 opposed to 40.. the sidewall would just be bigger. And the wheel bolted on my car on bilsteins, it is just slightly in, so I would imagine 20mm further out would atleast put it flush with the fender

Measure how much further out you want your wheels to sit. Buy that size spacer.

                    et35 with a 20mm spacer on a 7.5" wheel isn't flush. It's whatever.
205/40 is going to look kind of dumb. Rubber band.
And I'm not saying to spend 1k on wheels for your daily. You're wasting money already to make your "STANCE" look goofy.

Stock weaves with a small spacer would look much better IMHO.
But it's just an opinion, I guess.

This is the wheels bolted no spacers, and only on an eibach pro spring kit. Its hard to see but I don't understand how you guys says itl look dumb. The borbets are 1 inch wider the stockies, so saying that I need wider wheels but stock wheels would look better is just contradictory.

Space your 7.5" wheels with 205/40's out and go stand behind your car.
Take a look and tell me if you think it looks good.

He's trying to tell you from experience that pushing 7.5" wheels out that much will look funny, thats why you need wider wheels, you are asking for wide wheel poke without using wide wheels.

But if your content with that, do it!

To be helpful to what you've got/what you asked for I would suggest to go flush instead of hellaflush. When you get your Joms get a mild drop and For 16x7.5 wheels Use 205/50-16 tires with et15-20 so bust out with a 15-20mm hub-centric spacer. I would suggest 20mm and you'll be happy.

yea I understand that 7.5 tires arent really wide but I never said anything about having wide wheels, I just said my setup. I wanted something that is somewhat flush, I know if i really wanna poke Id have to run a billion spacers or get wide wheels. Of which I wouldnt want to daily on a lot of spacers, so I would probably do the wheels.

Ill see when I order some spacers.
