Is this a good deal for a temporary fix?

There is a craigslist guy in my area selling xxr 527's 16x8 et 0 that I have been in contact with and he is willing to let them go for $350 with tires. For me this is a temporary solution till I can find a nice set of bbs reps. I am currently running bottlecaps so anything is better and the car will be lowered on JOM coilovers so it can go pretty low. Is it worth it?

Save your money for what you want instead of blowing $350 one a temp fix. Thats a good chunk of change for a band-aid.

Thats what my gut is telling me but I am not a fan of the bottlecaps. My last e30 had bottlecaps and I got sick and tired of them. Basketweaves would be a nice look but there hard to find for a low price.

Bottle caps arent that bad...but I understand the desire to get something nicer. If I were you...I'd just wait. If you plan to go to the track...for a bit more than what you have now you can get some nice TR C1s.

i'll wait too, throw on some good tires for your bottle cap and enjoy your new ride.

I think the worst part is that I hate your answers cause its not what I wanted to hear but it makes more sense than my reasoning. thanks guys.

it kind of depends. if you can get them for a good price and they're in good nick, theoretically you should be able to flip them for close to that price if you keep them well. then you can save for your other wheels, then your other tyres, then put them on. i mean yes $350 is perhaps not too far off maybe the wheel only price of some bbs reps, but then you need tyres and things.

the JOMs from what i can see should get you down enough to pull off those xxr's too so i reckon if you like em, just run them for a little while. Even if it isn't perfect it is beter than caps and probably you will get complimented on the new setup anyway, it isn't like you're buying 16 x 7 +30 5 spokes or something :P haha

also you will get better handling in theory from the bigger wider wheels.
