Cosmoline? It's on three of the caps on my E34 and I'd like to remove it w/o damaging the paint underneath.

Different shade of paint. Appears that some one used some heavy de-greaser and it ate at the clear on your covers.

The paint fades and stains, its because its on a plastic base vs the metal wheel. The only hope is to repaint. Its just like pinkrot on red cars plastic bumpers. Once its pink, you cant bring it back.sigpicComment
