Lets try this again: Looking for proper wheels for my IS

So I posted about this before, but got almost no responses, so I'm widening my search.

    Here's the car:

I'm looking for a set of rims that would fit better with the aesthetic of the car. It's running 215/17/45s right now, and I'd like to keep it that way, although I'm open to 16"s as well. I'm going for an 80s-90s look, so weaves/multi-spoke are good, I'm a huge fan of ACS wheels as well. Looking to keep it <$1000, but can go a bit over for the right set.

    Any suggestions?

Check wheels pictures threds, and go from there.
You may wan to concentrate your search around Borbet, Ronal, BBS, Azev, ASC or RIAL (if you fund any), some Momo, TSW and the rest of the well known brands from the 80s and 90s.

At the end, the wheels is a very personal choice.... very philosophical question. It is he same as "to cicumsize or not to"...there is no definate answer here.

Heavy spokes would look good (BBS, Konig remembers, ESM's, etc) IMO. I am in the process of swapping out my DForce 5 spokes for some BBS RS rims and i think it gives the car a more period correct 80's look.

Can't go wrong with RS's (or the reps, ESM, remembers,etc.). Borbet's like the A's are a classic and Ronal has a couple of 80's goodies. Ultimately it will be your choice, But i feel a 80's car should have a 80's wheel...just my .02
