Any vibrations at all on the highway? I mean anything? I hate my current setup where I have to run a 20mm spacer to clear my BBK as it induces a slight vibration at highway speeds. I do not want to run adapters to use a 5 lug wheel to have the exact same problem with vibrations. So anyone mind chiming in with their experience?

Question for fill and drill wheel owners

My roommate is running redrilled style 5's on his car. He's driving to Texas and back once and NorCal and back a few times with absolutely no issues. The car drives no different than it would on stock wheels.Comment

Hmm. I guess I'll track down a set of style 4s and go find a shop. Thanks!Comment

And to clear up any future questions, my spacers are hub centric with no gashes, etc on the mating surfaces.
#dealwithit I already have 5 lug on one E30, I don't need to incur the cost of another one.Comment

if you were running 10" wide wheels with a zero offset i might believe you were finding measurably increased bearing wear, but a 20mm spacer on a stock fitment wheel isn't going to do it. something like that might cost you 5k miles out of 70k...AKA something barely worth mentioning.
i tend to think there's something causing your issue besides the spacers.Comment

My wheels have a 29 offset, with a 20mm spacer, so roughly a 9 offset. Each rim weights 27 lbs without the tire. That's quite a bit of mass being pushed farther out spinning around curves, going 90 mph on the highway everyday for an hour and a half on various road surface types. I'm not easy on my car, every toll way visit is treated like a track day if there's no one around. ;)
The rims are straight and true, load balanced, torqued to 80 ft/lb, etc. Nothing is out of sort with them. The vibration comes from the front only and does not move to the rear when I switch them around. I have to repack my front bearings once a month for vibration free driving. I having been going on 2 months since my last repack after switching to Redline CV2 grease then a traditional Lithium like FAG packs them with. My issue is heat being generated in the bearing by the increased load, not the tolerances being messed up. The grease basically turns sort of liquidly after awhile and seeps out from the seals. I'll start feeling a slight vibration and a groaning bearing will make itself known a week or two later.
I replace my front bearings about every 6 months and that's because the plastic barrels in the bearing usually break and or crumble by that many repacks. Rears have been trouble free so far since I installed the spacers on them.Comment

Oscam Stella 15x7 ET29, stamped Italy 1988. Nice wheels with a machined face and lip, but stupidly heavy.Comment

All that for a tank wheel. I'd just start looking something else.Comment

Well I have been for awhile, but money has been lacking. I want something 16x8, but I can't find anything that looks right on an E30 to me and clears the RX7 calipers. I've since decided to go the expense and ditch the Rx7 calipers in favor of a Massive kit. I love the wheels, but they're fucking insane. One day I would like to get a set made that look like them, but with a much better fitment and size.
