    Wheel repair options?

My spare weave has a bend on the inner lip so I am looking for basic repair service options. I am in no rush so I can ship it but shipping each way will add another $50 so I'd rather have it done locally around Pittsburgh.

Does anyone recommend a local place or have a great experience shipping one out for repair? I don't need it refinished, just road worthy as a spare since it presently is questionable to me. I have considered flattening it out myself but don't have the tools nor could I properly balance it afterward.

      I'll bite..
While I've never personally had a bent wheel repaired, the general thing I've gathered is that while yes, there are companies that have the tooling/know-how to repair/refurbish wheels - 9 times out of 10, it's going to be cheaper/easier to just replace the wheel.

Then there are two types of bends:
Small ones where the lip is "dinged" and doesn't affect use. (i've seen remarkably dinged wheels that function just fine)

Big ones where the wheel is truly bent and "out of round".

If your lip has a ding, I've seen youtube videos where guys heat the area up with propane torch and bang it back into shape with something like a deadblow hammer.

If the wheel is bent out of round - then it needs to go to a shop with appropriate tooling.

Wheels America is one of the companies my research brought back as a place that can restore/refurbish most anything - but again, we easily start talking the kind of money that buys a good, used replacement.
