    ix vs euro weaves

I was wondering if there is any difference between the euro weaves and the 15" ix weaves. I understand that they both take the same center cap and are 15" rims, but is one wider than another to accommodate a 205 tire better and are the offsets different as well?

I also understand that you can run 14" bottlecaps on an ix but you can't run the ix weaves on a regular e30. Why not? Skool me please!

Same diameter, same width, same cap. The Euro weave is an ET24 where as the ix weave is an et41. You need spacers to use the ix weaves otherwise they rub on the struts. The Euroweave has a little more lip.

Thank you sir! Next question...most aftermarket 4x100 rims are for front wheel drive cars and have a higher offset. Would they fit better on an ix because the ix also has the higher offset? The reason I am asking is because there is a guy selling a set of mugen nr 15" rims with a +45 offset 4x100 and I thought maybe they would fit on my ix.

Both ix weaves and euro weaves fit the ix well. For a +45 you may need a 5mm spacer or so, it also depends on the spoke shape and whether or not they clear the brakes.

For a regular e30 you will need a a decent size spacer, i'm not sure on the exact size but for the ix weaves it is in the range of 15mm.

iirc I think you can run ix weaves on a non ix in the rear without spacers, but not the front because the inside of the barrel will hit the strut. I think ix weaves are also slightly different in the face design. Euroweaves have a flat face and ix weaves have a slight convex. I think...
