Biggest tires to fit e30: rear

Ok so i have an 87 e30 24v turbo that is gonna need some different tires for the rear so i can hook up a little better. Just wondering what you guys think is the biggest or a good size of tire to run in the rear. obviously the wider and the taller the better!!? Also any input on different tires would be great too. Kinda looking at the nitto gens or the bfg g-force.

I am planning on running a set of 16in. rota's as of right now.

I am running eibach suspension so this would be a factor too!
Also will i need to run spacers or will this not help?

    thanks in advance!

every manufacturer is different but you can run 25" tall and around 9.5" wide tread width with the correct offset that hugs that rear shock. With the usual et20 wheels out there you can only fit a 8.5" tread width in my experience. With an et20 8.9" treadwidth, rolled fender, and worn subframe bushings the car was undriveable.

You can run 245/45/16s with 10mm spacers out back and minor fender rolling. Or 20mm and a lot of rolling but no pulling.
