    Tire Selection - 215/45 16

So I'm going to be rocking a staggered setup in the summer and I can't find a set of tires in 25/14 16 that are decent and affordable...

    Wheels:

    16x7.5" Azev A - Front
    16x9" Azev A - Rear

    My choices:

    EcstaXS

    Bridgestone RE010

    Bridgestone RE040

The problem is that none of these guys make a 205/50 16 tire. I would love to have a matching set of tires on all four corners...

What are you staggered peeps rocking?!

    Thanks!

What size wheels are you running? Lots of guys run 215/45 falken 615's.

As a last resort, you'd be surprised how much a sidewall stagger can look like a section width stagger. 205/45 F 205/50 R looks more like 205/45 215/45 than you would think as long as the wheels are at least an inch wider in the rear.

Lots of cheap choices too: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSe...earDiameter=16

Or just ball out, get a set of 205/50 225/45 Dunlop ZII's and enjoy the overkill grip.

Sorry, I completely forgot to include that. Added in o/p.

        16x7.5" Azev A - Front
        16x9" Azev A - Rear

Hmm, wouldn't a 225/45 tire rub like a mother out back?

This is how it looks with H&R O.E. sports:

I will be switching over to H&R Sports soon... and I rolled the fenders a bit in the back. Do you think a 205/45 tire up front would look a bit "rubber band-ish"?

A 225-45-16 will rub with H&R race and Bilstein sports. Ran the same wheels. They rub.

I see. The race's are supposedly lower than the sports. I'm also on koni adjustables... I think it'll still rub.

I'm wondering if a 205/45 16 in front will look awkward.

Have you looked at this thread?

Those are pulled nicely. Or did they weld new flares in to the body work?

I'll be running 16x9 front and rear on my Futura's this spring, need to find tires since I don't want to run my 205/45 falken 512s due to the stretch they will have.

                    Do you S.Drive's run wide?

Woah, I didn't come across this thread while searching. Thank you!

                      I think those were pulled.

It sure seems like the S.drive's run wide.

Yeh wow... they definitely do. The s.drive's aren't great with wet traction though. I'm really leaning towards the BF Goodrich g-Force sports. They're AWESOME.

I'm contemplating those but with a slight bump in sizes...

                          Front: 205/50 16
                          Rear: 205/55 16

ORRR just run friggin 205/50 16 all around?!

^ That would never fit. The BFG Sports are one of the widest shouldered tires out, and the rear diameter being an inch too tall will only heighten the issue.

Ahh, thats good. So a 205/45 16 would fill out nicely then? I'm just afraid of the illusion that there's a ton of fender gap because the tire isn't as tall.
