that article is just saying that light wheels impact performance, which is almost common sense. A light 16x8 will be better than a heavier 16x8. The issue is almost more complicated than it seem, many more factors.

They used a stock VW golf, which has a low horse power engine. If it were to be a gti, a less wide wheel would in turn give a slower 0-62 and the likes.
